About the author
After studying Music at the University of Nottingham and completing his PGCE at Oxford Brookes University, Derek Hobbs taught as Head of Music at a secondary school in Derby before moving to be Head of Year 8 at Nottingham Bluecoat School and Technology College. Derek has presented his ideas about starters and plenaries at local authority Music Teachers’ conferences and is the author of several other Music education titles. He is currently studying towards an MA in Education at the University of Derby.
