Instruments and Voices

The activities in this section focus on instrumental and vocal timbre and texture. Students learn about families and ensembles of instruments and about ways of combining voices. The activities are ideal preparation for students to gain first-hand experience of playing instruments and experimenting with their voices.

The activities in this section are likely to be most successful when used at an appropriate point in a Key Stage 3 scheme of work.
