Challenging Behaviour is arranged in a number of sections as follows:

• Introduction – An introduction to the resource.
• Understanding BESD – This section looks at defining and clarifying what behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) are, and how we and others perceive them.
• Approaches to BESD:
  • Background – An introduction to the approaches.
  • Behavioural – A method of helping pupils improve their behaviour.
  • Attribution – A method of helping pupils to be more positive.
  • Relationships – A method of helping pupils improve their relationships with others.

In addition, there is a Resources section, which includes frequently-asked questions, guidance on further reading, a bibliography, Web sites, links to all the digital files and a printable version of the onscreen material. An Index is provided for quick searches.
