Trick questions

The puzzles in this section are all intentionally misleading in some way. Usually, the difficulty is not so much in finding the answer as in working out what is being asked in the first place! They are suitable for use in informal contexts such as an end-of-term quiz, but they can also help to make points about exam technique and the importance of reading the question carefully.
