Series: Phonic Cues
Phonic Cues Set 2
Jenny Murray
Children need to be able to read without difficulty, in a fluent and clear manner. Synthetic phonics has become widely accepted as a key way to achieve this, and the National Curriculum requires that children learn ‘phonemic awareness and phonic knowledge’, and to ‘use their knowledge of sound-symbol relationships and phonological patterns’.
Building on the material in Phonic Cues Set 1, this pack is for beginning readers who need to learn spelling patterns in the form of ‘word families’ and to tackle words with a repeated consonant at the end such as in ‘back’ and ‘doll’. There are also some special materials for those who confuse ‘b’ and ‘d’.
All the materials are suitable for use by both young children and older pupils who find reading difficult. Phonic Cues Set 2 includes:
- Teacher’s notes
- 8 dice
- 26 wheels
- 48 word cards
- 5 booklets
- 3 board games.
