Masks

These presentations can be used to learn skills associated with African mask design – distortion, decoration and expressive qualities. This is also an opportunity to explore the use of creative images in rituals, religion and theatre.

Whilst the imagery in the presentations is two dimensional, this work would be very suitable to move on in three dimensions, perhaps in the construction of actual masks, or through work in ceramics.
