An Orthodox synagogue

01forward

This is the exterior of Golders Green Orthodox Synagogue. The word ‘synagogue’ refers not only to a place of worship, but also to a Jewish congregation. It is a place where Jews come to discuss, worship and learn more about their religion.

The flag of Israel and the mezuzah, which is on the doorframe, help people to recognise that this is a Jewish place of worship. To the right of the synagogue is the community hall and to the left is a graveyard. Through the main doors is the lobby. Down the road, you will find a kosher delicatessen and butchers.
