Answers
Answers to the activity sheets in this resource have deliberately not been provided, since they should be self-explanatory, within the information texts supplied, or easily located in textbooks or on the Internet. In any case, there are no right answers in RE, so any answers would be advisory only. You will naturally use your own professional judgement when you come to assess the work.
Spellings
You may notice that, in a small number of cases, spellings, etc in the text of the materials in Complete RE varies. This was unavoidable given the range of authors whose work has been incorporated into the project; the author’s intellectual property has had to be balanced against contemporary understandings of how words might be expressed or meanings derived from certain artefacts. However, as far as possible, the glossary definitions from Religious Education: Glossary of Terms (SCAA 1994) have been used as the guide.
The differences in spellings can also be attributed to the diversity of religions represented, as well as the variety of traditions within them that find expression in the UK. For example, ‘Pesach’ has often been used to represent the Jewish feast referred to in English as Passover. Occasionally, however, the latter has been used. Similarly, Nibbana, from the Pali translation, has been used. There may be some occasional references to Nirvana, however.
