Using digital files

All the puzzles are provided as digital files. These are presentation graphics and PDF (portable document format) files. To access them, either click on the links found in the resource, or click on the Resources tab and then select Digital files from the left-hand menu. All the files can also be found in the folder called digital_files on the CD-ROM.

You will need Microsoft_® PowerPoint and Adobe Reader (or compatible software) to open or print out the digital files. If your computer does not already have Adobe Reader installed, look in the installers folder for the appropriate installer for your operating system. Alternatively, visit the Adobe Web site to download the appropriate installer.

Following a link to a digital file may open the file within a browser window. To save a presentation file so that it can be opened and edited, right-click on the link and select Save Target As.... Then, right-click on the file icon, select Properties and untick the Read-only attribute. To make PDFs appear in a new window, open Adobe Reader, select Edit>Preferences, click on Internet, and then untick Display PDF in Browser.

Printable material

All the onscreen material has been included as PDF files. These can be viewed onscreen or printed out. To access these files, click on the Resources tab and then select Printable version.
