The mezuzah is a small container that is fixed to the inside and outside doorframes of Jewish buildings. The mezuzah contains the verses of the Shema. Jews will often touch the mezuzah on their way in and out of their home as a way of remembering that Jewish values should be adhered to both inside and outside of the home. |
