The mosque

01forward

This is the Al Falah Mosque in Leicester. A mosque is an Islamic place of worship. The word ‘mosque’ means ‘to bow before Allah’, so mosques are chiefly places for Muslims to come together to bow and pray before Allah. The mosque also acts as a focal point for the Muslim community.

Above the door to the mosque, you can see a sign. The tall towers on top of the mosque are called minarets, and the large half-sphere in the middle is called the dome.
