A priest is someone who has dedicated their life to the search for spiritual truth. Within the Hindu community, a priest has many roles and responsibilities. These include leading the congregation in puja, taking care of the murtis, and performing various other ceremonies such as weddings.

Although women are allowed to become priests, it is not very common.
