Christians are monotheists. This means they believe in only one God. However, this one God has been revealed as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons are referred to as the Holy Trinity.
Christians believe in a personal God. One of the reasons for this idea is the belief that God came to Earth as a person – Jesus. God therefore, through Jesus, has shown His personal side, and it is through Jesus that Christians believe they can have a personal relationship with God.
Although God is often traditionally referred to as a He or Him, most Christians believe that God is neither male nor female, although He may have both masculine and feminine qualities.
