Teaching objectivesThis resource provides starter and plenary activities that can be used in the classroom. The order of the activities matches the teaching objectives for each year of Key Stage 3, as set out in Section 2 of the MFL Framework. There are 35 teaching objectives for Year 7 pupils, 34 for Year 8 and a further 34 for Year 9. These 103 KS3 objectives are organised into five categories:
In the MFL Framework, each objective is identified by its target year group (Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9), the first letter of the category under which it is classified (eg W, S, T, etc), and a final number that places it in numerical order in that category. Thus teaching objective 7W1 is the first objective within the Year 7 section ‘Words’; objective 9C5 is the fifth objective within the Year 9 section ‘Cultural knowledge and contact’. All starters and plenaries within this resource are referenced to these teaching objectives in the same way. It is expected that, even though activities are presented in the structure of the MFL Framework, the same (or very similar) activities can be reworked to suit other objectives than the one the activity is listed under. |
