Jesus was also a great teacher. Most Christians agree that the most important lessons we can learn from Jesus were given as two commandments to his followers. These are:

• You must love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.
  and
• You must love your neighbour as yourself.

The Parable of The Good Samaritan is a particularly well-known illustration of this latter commandment. (A parable is a short, simply story using familiar settings to illustrate an underlying religious meaning.)

Jesus was crucified just outside Jerusalem when he was around thirty years old.
