Roman Catholicism

return

The Roman Catholic Church is the largest of all Christian denominations. Its head, the Pope, is based in the Vatican, which is located in the centre of Rome. This is why this denomination is known as the Roman Catholic Church.

The term ‘catholic’ means ‘universal’ and applies to most Christian groups that acknowledge the Nicene Creed. Roman Catholics believe strongly in the seven sacraments and practise a liturgical form of worship. The liturgy is the collected acts of worship that the congregation performs together.
